You can only duet with TikTokers whose preferences permit it. Alternatively, they might only allow duets with people they follow back.

You can look up terms like "a duet with me," "duet this," and other similar combinations if you wish to work with someone else. The bulk of them will be videos that ask you to interact with the creator.

Once you have located the video you want to use for your TikTok Duet, proceed as follows:

On the bottom right of the screen, tap the Share icon. It's the one with the bent arrow form.

Choose the Duet button from the pop-up box. You can go as long as it is not grey (sometimes it may be grey and still works, so always tap if you want to be sure).

The original video and the video from your camera are displayed side by side on the next screen.

• By using the Layout button on the right menu, choose your layout first. You have the option of the conventional side-by-side, a green screen, a reaction (in the corner of the screen), or top and bottom. • To begin recording your response, tap the red Record button.

• Tap Next once more.
• The caption, hashtags, and post can all be modified on the final screen. The handle of the person you created the Duet with will appear automatically.

How to Do a Duet on TikTok With Yourself

On TikTok, you may also record a duet with yourself. Pick a video from your profile and follow the same instructions to Duet with yourself. The Duet's original video does not, however, have to be fully released.

You might not want to disclose the first half of your duet to the public. In some cases, it doesn't look right without the other half of the duet or isn't interesting sufficient on its own.

In that situation, you should first make a private video by doing the procedures listed below:

• To make a new video, press the Plus button.
• Follow all the processes until you are happy with the outcome, such as adding filters, effects, stickers, etc.
• Before posting, change the setting for Who Can See This Video to Only Me on the last screen.
