At the massive Marvel Studios panel that took place on Saturday at San Diego Comic-Con, "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3" got its first glimpse. is definitely the end of the "Guardians" saga, the director underlined, adding, "This is the end of that story." I apologize. Some stories have an ending. Not everybody dies, however.
Gamora loses track of her fellow Guardian crew in the "Vol. 3" trailer. The Adam Warlock figure, played by MCU newcomer Will Poulter, and the, super-buff Adam Warlock are also alluded at in the video. Groot appears to be a teen. The Flaming Lips "Do You Realize" is playing during the video. The Oscar nominee for "Borat 2," Maria Balakova, was approved by the panel to play Cosmos the Space Dog.
The narrative of "Vol. 3" will be inspired by Rocket's origins. Gunn explained to the Comic-Con audience that he actually wondered how a talking raccoon could really be real, which made him think Rocket must be the happiest being in the universe. The movie will expand on that beginning.
The actor suggested that Karen Gillan's Nebula will have a friendlier attitude. "Having Thanos removed from her life was a very powerful experience for her. She's developing her own personality, so to say," she said.
"She's still quirky and odd, but at the same time, she shows a lot of confidence," said Pom Klementieff of Mantis.
She also has strong fighting skills.
In his role as Adam Warlock, Poulter said, "I'm truly, truly grateful." To have ever set foot on the "Guardians" set is quite weird.
The entire team is back together in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3," which is directed by Gunn, who also oversaw the first two galactic team-up movies. The cast also includes Sean Gunn as Kraglin, Pom Klementieff as Mantis, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Dave Bautista as Drax the Destroyer, and Bradley Cooper as Rocket Raccoon, Vin Diesel as Groot, and Elizabeth Debicki as Ayesha. Chris Pratt plays Star-Lord.
Sean Gunn said of the movie's making, "Working with my brother has been the most rewarding part of it." It's now past just being pleasant to work with him; it's also enjoyable to work with all of these other folks. We actually care.
Adam Warlock is played by Poulter, who has been in "The Revenant," "Midsommar," and most recently got an HBO nod for "Dopesick." Adam is a super artificial entity that was made in the books with the intention of destroying the Guardians of the Galaxy. The cast also includes Daniela Melchior, who played Mythic creature II in Gunn's "The Suicide Squad" last year, and Chukwudi Iwuji, who worked with Gunn on his "Peacemaker" series.
The most recent show of the Guardians of the Galaxy was Taika Waititi's "Thor: Love and Thunder" opening. Thor and the Guardians originally traveled together to better protect several alien worlds from dangers after their partnership in "Avengers: Infinity War" and "Avengers: Endgame," but Thor eventually breaks off on his own quest.
The third "Guardians of the Galaxy" film has taken a time to make. Disney fired Gunn in 2018 when some heated tweets resurfaced, only to rehire him a few months later after an apology.
On May 5, 2023, "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3" will be released in theatres.
